Taekwondo is a martial art originating in Korea and is performed with bare hands and feet.

The Taekwondo Club was established in 2010. Kadir Baynaz, one of the Health, Culture, and Sports Department trainers, teaches regular classes for anyone who is interested in the sport.

Exams are held every four months in the Taekwondo hall in order for the students to advance up through the belt groups. The club’s mission is to teach the techniques and philosophy of Taekwondo and to represent the school in tournaments at the highest possible level.

In Taekwondo, speed is more important than power. Instead, of avoiding the moves of a rival, it is essential to defend against them with agility, and to make a countermove.
